DZYNE’s ULTRA Achieves First Flight with Turbocharged Engine, Marking Major Performance Breakthrough

ULTRA in-flight at Duke Field at Eglin Air Force Base with new turbocharged engine.

DZYNE Technologies has reached a major milestone in the evolution of its Uncrewed Long-endurance Tactical Reconnaissance Aircraft (ULTRA) platform, completing a successful first flight powered by a new turbocharged engine.

The flight, conducted at Duke Field at Eglin Air Force Base, demonstrated seamless integration of the upgraded powerplant and a significant step forward in performance. The new engine unlocks power and operational capability at altitudes above 25,000 feet which enhances ULTRA’s mission flexibility and improves resilience in adverse weather.

ULTRA delivers more than altitude, it delivers tactical dominance. Combined with ULTRA’s proven 70+ hours of endurance and newly integrated proliferated Low Earth Orbit (pLEO) BLOS system, ULTRA is built for next-generation ISR operations.

Flight testing will continue in the weeks ahead with a focus on validating performance across the full flight envelope and culminating in an endurance capstone mission demonstration. This flight marks a foundational step toward fielding a new generation of low-cost, long-endurance, and operationally effective ISR platforms.
